Entrepreneurs With a New Label?

See Ron Baker's post on "Grindhopping." It's about a book that helps people create expectations for leaving their 9-5 job to start their own gig.

Is this merely a new name for the entrepreneurial bug that bites many of us when we are maxed out on the corporate lifestyle (a la "Escape from Cubicle Nation")?

If it's different, how?  Because of technology?  Values and risk?

I think you are right in your assessment as this does seem to be putting a different spin on the same idea. Starting off on your own will always be risky, but technology is making it easier to leverage your skills and your time if you know how to manipulate it to your advantage.
