"Digital Detectives"

By Selena Chavis: Consider the case of People vs. Superior Court. It developed from a fraud and grand theft investigation following the defendant’s alleged creation of false evidence in response to a federal subpoena for information. The false documents included an inaccurate billing statement and a series of letters that referenced “future” meetings.

It’s certainly not the first case involving falsified documents, but it does bring to light a rapidly growing specialty in the world of accounting and criminal investigations: Computer forensics.
